As you step into the Piazza della Repubblica, you’ll meet your expert guide, who will take you on an immersive stroll through the heart of ancient Rome. You’ll explore the winding medieval streets where some of the greatest artists of all time, such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Dante, once lived and worked. You’ll visit the Orsanmichele, an iconic medieval church adorned with stunning Renaissance sculptures, including those by the famous Donatello.

Next, you’ll head to Piazza della Signoria, where you can hear fascinating tales about the Renaissance fountain, statues, and Palazzo Vecchio. The Uffizi, an excellent example of Renaissance architecture, is just beyond the palace. After crossing the Uffizi courtyard, you’ll reach the banks of the Arno River, where you’ll see the famous Ponte Vecchio, Florence’s oldest bridge.

During your semi-private tour, you’ll stop at Piazza Santa Croce, which used to be a jousting arena but now hosts the city’s official sport, Calcio Storico, a blend of soccer, rugby, and wrestling. You’ll then continue through the medieval streets to the Bargello and eventually arrive at Cathedral Square, where you’ll marvel at Filippo Brunelleschi’s record-breaking dome and Michelangelo’s golden Gates of Paradise, a Renaissance masterpiece.

The tour concludes with a visit to the Palazzo Medici, where you’ll learn about the Medici family’s history and contributions to Florence’s golden age. Finally, you’ll see the elegant Renaissance architecture and ornamentation in the beautiful palace courtyard before stopping at the church of San Lorenzo, the original cathedral of Florence, which has a foundation dating back to the 4th century.
